Dear Residents / Business Owners,

We are pleased to announce that the Homeworth Vol. Fire Co has improved its Insurance Services Office (ISO) Public Protection Classification (PPC) from Class 4/4y to Class 3/3y. This change is effective as of February 2, 2026.
ISO's PPC program measures and evaluates the fire protection efforts of communities across the country. The rating is based on the quality of our fire department, our water supply, and our emergency communications system. The improved rating indicates an exemplary level of fire protection, which can lead to lower insurance premiums for residents and businesses.
What this means for you:
• Potential insurance savings: Some insurance companies use ISO ratings to determine their rates. A lower PPC number generally represents a lower risk, which may result in a decrease in your fire insurance premiums.
• Action required: To see if you are eligible for a discount, please contact your insurance agent or company directly and inform them of our new ISO PPC rating: Class 3/3y
This achievement is a testament to the hard work and commitment of our firefighters and the community's investment in public safety.

As we enter into the fall months, we want to remind everyone of the statewide burn ban in effect, from Oct. 1 - Dec. 1, 6AM - 6PM. Please be mindful of burning, as dead brush and leaves can spread fires quickly.

We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded a joint agency FEMA grant. This grant will replace all of our aging air packs, bottles and face pieces for both departments.

It is with great pleasure, that we get to inform the community of our next big step in emergency services we are able to provide. We have purchased an EMS vehicle. This allows us to provide a dedicated vehicle with all the equipment, we have either received on grants or purchased to be placed in one easily accessible unit. While we still cannot transport this unit will be well equipped to provide first response for our transport units. As well as EMS mutual aid for our neighbors. Up next lights and decals. Expect to see this unit on the road in a few weeks. Thanks to Sarchione Fords patience on working through this with us

We would like to give a huge thank you to the Harvest Inn. They have been supporting us for years with a golf outing. This year they raised $7400 dollars for us. We appreciate you taking time to do this and for all the work that goes into this. It’s great being part of a community that has always supported us. Again thank you very much!!!

Tonight we were fortunate to have the opportunity to train on confined space rescue. With the main focus on manure pits and there hazards. Thanks to North Georgetown and Damascus fire for attending.
