omeschool group in South Kona! Students will be able to joyfully participate in a non-religious, Waldorf inspired Main Lesson complete with an imaginative, artistic, hands-on, and holistic approach to Language Arts, Math, Science, and History (please see the back of this page for a grade-by-grade breakdown of the curriculum). Further, each group will have the opportunity to celebrate local festivals; enjoy guest speakers, artisans & teachers; and go on amazing field trips! This rich homeschool program also includes several specialty classes such as: Wood Working, Handwork (knitting, crochet, sewing, etc.), Ukulele, Drawing/Painting, Glass Blowing, Spanish, Hawaiian Studies, Gardening/Sustainable Living, Form Drawing, Nature Study/Ecology, Culinary Arts, Movement/P.E., and Clay Work (to name a few). Groups currently forming include 4th Grade, 5th Grade, 3rd Grade, and Middle School (although we may be open to forming another class if there is a great enough need). Our site is conveniently located at SKEA in beautiful, historic Honaunau. Groups will meet Tuesdays – Thursdays from 9:00 – 2:35, with additional specialty classes on Fridays. Before-care and after-care are available. Giving each child the individual attention he or she needs is important to us. Therefore, we are limiting enrollment to no more than 10 students per group. Open enrollment ends AUG 19. Enrollment thereafter will be very limited and by special consideration only. Classes begin August 29. Aloha! I am sorry to say that Ho`ea Homeschool is no longer accepting full-time students/families for the 2018-2019 school year. However, Homeschool Curriculum Consultation, Child Development/Pedagogy Consultation, and Private After-School Tutoring are still available. I will keep you updated if there are any changes.
