Trump is actively trying to destroy America.

At a moment when drones are transforming warfare...and have already killed and wounded American troops...the Army has ordered one of its most specialized drone units to stop specializing in drones.

Now lawmakers from both parties want to know why.

The 173rd Airborne Brigade in Europe had been building its own drones and training in techniques pioneered on Ukraine’s battlefields and increasingly used by Iran against U.S. forces. The roughly 600-soldier formation was established last November so it could deploy wherever drone expertise was needed, the Associated Press reports.

But acting Army Chief of Staff Gen. Christopher LaNeve recently ordered the unit to return its focus to traditional airborne infantry duties, less than a year after the drone effort began, according to the AP.

That prompted an unusually bipartisan demand for answers from Sens. Jeanne Shaheen, Thom Tillis and Angus King and Rep. Mike Turner. They warned that abandoning the specialized unit could squander lessons from Ukraine and slow America’s ability to keep pace as drones rapidly reshape the battlefield. They’re asking whether the decision came from Army leaders or higher up at the Pentagon, the AP reports.

The reversal comes amid remarkable turmoil at the top of the Army.

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth abruptly removed Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George in April without publicly explaining why. George had made incorporating drones into ordinary Army formations a priority. Army Secretary Dan Driscoll, who championed faster drone development alongside George, resigned this week following widely reported tensions with Hegseth, according to the AP.

Modern warfare is giving America some brutally clear lessons about drones in real time. This seems like a particularly dangerous moment for Pentagon leadership to stop taking notes.

BREAKING: Fired former U.S. Pardon Attorney Liz Oyer has filed a federal lawsuit against the Trump regime, alleging she was unlawfully terminated after refusing to help facilitate a political favor for Trump ally Mel Gibson.

Oyer alleges she was fired by then-Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche after refusing to recommend restoring Gibson’s gun rights, citing his domestic violence history.

Her lawsuit argues the firing violated her due process and First Amendment rights. It also makes another striking argument: DOJ itself has maintained that only the attorney general had the authority to fire her under Article II. But Oyer was fired by Blanche, not then-Attorney General Pam Bondi.

She is asking a federal court to declare her firing unlawful, reinstate her, and restore her lost pay and benefits.
