MPL is excited to share the works of Krista Flynn. Krista is a nature and portrait photographer residing in Honeoye Falls.

Krista is inspired by the changing seasons, small, overlooked details, finding magic in the ordinary, light, and meaningful connection. Krista loves finding creative uses of light as well as intentional camera movement.

As a nature photographer, Krista loves both small details and larger landscapes. One of her favorite places to photograph is the Adirondack mountains, a place that her late father adored. Krista loves to remember him through attempting to display the beauty of the place he loved so much. When she is photographing her human subjects, Krista is most inspired by authentic joyful moments that tell a story and loving connections between family members.

Krista hopes to spread joy and beauty through her imagery. She is so grateful to be here and invites you to follow along with her on her journey either on Facebook or Instagram.

Preschool and Early Elementary Kids - Stop by the library to do some fun activities with local Girl Scouts.

Kids let's learn about Natural Resources with Cornell Cooperative Extension. This multi-day event will include: Water Runoff Demonstration (8/12), Pollutant Identification & Water Quality Testing (8/19), and What is a Tree & How It Works (8/26). Sign up to save your seat. Did you know that Monroe County is home to the largest circulating LGBTQ+ library in New York State? How is its history connected with the Stonewall liberation movement and the current Rochester Rainbow Union? This lively talk will fill you in about one of the most unique collections and communities in our area. Hosted by the Rush Public Library and presented by Gerry Szymanski, the Lilac Librarian at the Rainbow Union, and Senior Librarian for Reserves and Digital Services at the Sibley Music Library at the Eastman School of Music. Unearth a Story: An EquiCenter Experience for Kids & Teens! 🌱📖🐴

Join the Mendon Public Library on Monday, August 3, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM (rain date August 10) for a fun, hands-on family afternoon at EquiCenter!

Come explore our property, take a guided tour to meet our 30+ horses, and groom our adorable miniature horses. Kids can enjoy nature crafts, story time with a librarian, nature bingo, and a sensory tasting tour of our fresh-picked farm produce. There is also a special Teen Orienteering Challenge from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM!

This event is free, but registration is required for each child through the Mendon Public Library (adults must accompany children but do not need to register).

We had a great time celebrating our 15th anniversary at 22 N Main St last week. Library Director Lyla Grills and Friends President Mary Church gave some speeches on the history of the library and the services we continue to provide.
