Thanks to Taproot Collective, we now have raised bed gardens outside the library! Taproot Collective is an organization dedicated to supporting community gardens in the Rochester area through programs, materials, and policies and to using these settings for high-quality youth workforce development.

Over the summer, we will be seeking the help of teen volunteers to cultivate herbs and vegetables to share with the community. Register at mendonlibrary.org if you're interested!

Poet Kathleen Wakefield has found that experiencing the reading of poetry in community opens it up in new ways for everyone, whether you've always loved poetry or had less than positive experiences with it! She brings a diverse mini-anthology to each meeting and helps participants discover poems that deeply connect them to their own experiences and to the world. No prior experience with poetry is necessary. Sweet Bites will be held at MPL monthly this spring and participants are welcome to come to any or all of the sessions!
