What a great ribbon cutting celebrating the opening of the new pickleball and basketball courts at Sandy Bottom Park.

A special thank you to former Supervisor Marshall, Senator Pam Helming, Bill McDonald and AARP, which provided an $11,000 award to purchase benches and other accessories, and Carole Baker chair of the Friends of Sandy Bottom Park for helping make this facility possible.

These courts provide recreation for residents of all ages and skill levels while encouraging an active, healthy lifestyle. Most importantly, they represent an investment in our community and in the people who call Richmond home.

We’re excited to see these courts enjoyed for years to come!

Saturday Recycling & Garbage Reminder:

Morgan Rubbish, who takes garbage and recyclables on Saturdays 7:30 am - noon, requests that you bring your recycling in a container that can be easily dumped.

If you need to use a plastic bag, please do not tie it closed. Tied bags have to be ripped open, which takes additional time for the attendant to empty the recycling into the dumpster.

Thank you for helping keep things moving efficiently and making Saturday’s recycling drop-off easier for everyone!

Help Shape the Future of Honeoye!

The Honeoye Forward Visioning Committee is hosting its second community outreach event on Tuesday, August 18, from 6–8 p.m. at American Legion Post 1278 Honeoye-Hemlock.

Legion members and non-members alike are invited to join us, share ideas, and help shape the future of our community.

At our first outreach event, several ideas came up repeatedly—including a splash pad, nature walk, expanded community recreation, and streetscape improvements.

Now we want to hear from you! What enhancements would help bring the committee vision to life?

“Creating a vibrant, walkable lake community that encourages people to stop, stay, explore, and connect.”

Your ideas and input are an important part of shaping Honeoye’s future. Come share your thoughts—we hope to see you there!
