It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our member Terry Yount. Terry started with us as a paid Paramedic and when he retired quickly submitted an application to be a volunteer Ambulance Driver. Terry was awarded the 2025 Ambulance Driver of the Year award at our recent banquet. His unforgettable voice, incredible laugh and endless Civil War stories will be sorely missed. Thank you for your service to the Richmond community. Our hearts are with his twin brother and family!

Yesterday members of the Richmond Fire Department traveled to FLCC to see an amazing seminar. Dr David Griffin was the engineer of the fire engine on June 18, 2007. The day that the City of Charleston Fire Dept lost 9 firefighters in a massive furniture store fire. It was a very powerful seminar and we are so thankful to the Hopewell Fire Department for hosting! Richmond crews took advantage of the warm weather to flow some water. When we don’t have hydrants we set up these big portable ponds and haul water into the scene. Our tanker is the biggest in the area with a 4000 gallon capacity.
