Honey Grove Mural

Honey Grove Mural Painted by well-known mural artist David Freeman, the mural is in the style of an old-time postcard.

A new mural on the south side of the Honey Grove Library & Learning Center, funded by the Honey Grove Industrial Foundation, celebrates Honey Grove’s rich history. It of course features Davy Crockett, who camped in what is now Honey Grove on his way to the Alamo. While camping, Crockett found “bees and honey plenty” and thus gave the town its name. The mural also celebrates Honey Grove’s:

* Histo

ric church buildings and congregations
* The many beautiful historic homes remaining in Honey Grove
* The town square and the historic buildings remaining on the Square
* The restored City Hall
* The newly restored Honey Grove Library & Learning Center
* The rich tradition of education in Honey Grove and its public school
* Honey Grove’s agricultural businesses, including cotton and ranching
