MAUNAWILI: Board of Water Supply (BWS) crews are responding to two water main breaks affecting customers in Maunawili Valley:

• 12-inch water main at 1148 Maunawili Road affecting 0 customers.
• 8-inch water main at 1292 Kika Street affecting 24 customers.

The inbound lane of Maunawili Road is currently closed between Maunawili Circle and Aloha Oe Drive. The outbound lane is being contraflowed to allow traffic in and out of the valley. Earlier, all lanes were closed after the water main break caused significant damage to the roadway. Following an assessment of the area, crews were able to safely reopen one lane to traffic.

Customers in the Maunawili area may experience a loss of water service or lower-than-normal water pressure while crews make repairs and work to restore normal operations. Repair work is ongoing and is expected to continue overnight.

A water wagon has been deployed at 1282 Kika Street, and a temporary spigot has been installed on a fire hydrant at 1193 Kika Place for customers needing access to water.

Customers who notice discolored water after service is restored are advised to flush their property water lines by running a cold-water faucet until the water runs clear.
