Dangerous conditions will ramp up for Kauaʻi and Oʻahu this afternoon and overnight tonight. Please play it safe and shelter in place until Hurricane Lowell has passed sometime tomorrow.

Give emergency responders and evacuees space to operate safely.

IF you must travel, turn your lights on fully, slow down and drive defensively.

Treat malfunctioning traffic lights as all-way stop signs.

Due to the continuing impacts of Category 3 Hurricane Lowell, all state offices in Kauaʻi County will be closed Tuesday, September 8. Kauaʻi County offices, public schools, community college, courts and Judiciary facilities will also be closed.

This closure applies only to Kauaʻi and Ni‘ihau. State offices on all other islands will continue normal operations unless otherwise announced.
