For today's Mana Monday we are featuring Alisha Balukoff, Owner of Waxing The City-Hawaii.
She is a licensed cosmetologist with a passion for waxing, skincare, and building businesses that help people feel confident and empowered. For the past five years, she has been working toward the goal of bringing Waxing the City to Aiea, and this year that vision finally became a reality. She recently opened the Aiea studio and was also given the exciting opportunity to take over the Kailua location, making for a busy and rewarding season of growth.
As a small business owner, she loves connecting with other professionals, sharing ideas, and learning from people who are passionate about what they do. Outside of work, she can usually be found checking out great restaurants, dancing whenever she gets the chance, or spending time at home with her kids, making dinner together, and listening to their favorite songs from musicals.
She says, “I've been a part of the YP program for a year now, and it has really helped me come out of my shell and learn how to network. It can be so intimidating at first, but like everything in life, practice makes it easier. And you couldn't ask for a kinder, more fun group to network with than the YP group! I'm excited to connect, build relationships, and be part of such a great community of professionals!”
