Honoring the 80th Anniversary of the End of WWII

On Aug. 31, 2025, at Ford Island, Hawaii, members of the community gathered at the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the end of WWII.

Tech. Sgt. Vidal, a crew chief with the 735th Air Mobility Squadron and an active member of the reenactment community, wore a WWII-era accurate uniform while standing beside a vintage aircraft and support vehicle, bringing history to life for all in attendance.

These living history moments remind us of the service, sacrifice, and enduring legacy of those who shaped our past and inspire us as we continue to serve today.

"Force Behind the Force!"

That’s the motto of the 72nd Aerial Port Squadron, a Reserve unit based out of Tinker AFB, Oklahoma. The unit recently completed a tour with the 735th Port Dawgs at Hickam, where they supported over 150 missions. TSgt Vasquez Romero and SrA Vitaliy Bezyazychnyy were recognized by their leadership as standout performers during this demanding rotation. They are a force to be reckoned with!

A photo of leadership combing over the details of the latest iteration of Table Top Excersise, or TTX. TTX is a gameplay training tool under development by the 735 AMS. It could be called an “Air Mobility Monopoly” of sorts. Accoring to a knowledgeable member of the program, TTX promises to “teach airpower warriors how to utilize decision making tools within the confines of a controlled environment, underscoring limitations and challenges, during a period of surge operations”.

✈️ For every 1 hour a C-17 spends in the sky, dedicated Air Force maintainers put in approximately 20 hours of expert care to keep it mission-ready. At the Air Mobility Squadron, when a plane is on the ground, we don’t just see an aircraft-we see maintainers working tirelessly to get it back in the air.

“Kokua imua lanakila!” (Onward to victory!)
On historic ground at Ford Island, Pearl Harbor, TSgt Isaac Portocarerro reaffirmed his commitment to serve and defend. Under the shadow of the iconic Douglas Skytrain-the backbone of airlift operations through history-he took his reenlistment oath, carrying forward the legacy of those who came before. We are honored to have TSgt Portocarerro continue his service in the U.S. Air Force.

Honoring the Fallen, Running in Rememberance

The 735th AMS Ohana came together for the 2025 Port Dawg Memorial Run, paying tribute to nine fallen 2T2s. In a heartfelt ceremony, nine polished MB2 devices were placed on a chain, and customs were rendered in their honor.

Following the tribute, Air Force, Army, and civilian personnel laced up their shoes and took to the flighline for a two-mile run, carrying forward the legacy of these heroes.

We remember. We run. We honor.
