Help this De-Privatize Medicaid aka Rescue Medicaid aka help everyone on Medicaid get a Dr aka swap bogus health insurance for quality healthcare, at-a-lower-cost bill to get a hearing. It was double referred and not scheduled. Call those numbers and ask for it to be reclassified as a joint hearing. Hawaii needs this bill. Everyone, not just people on Medicaid. We all need to stop subsidizing excessive insurance bureaucracy.

Hawaii’s healthcare infrastructure is at a breaking point. While our state faces impending federal Medicaid funding cuts, our current Med-QUEST system is leaking millions of dollars into administrative overhead and waste.
Join Dr. Stephen Kemble and the Health Committee of the Hawaii Democratic Party for a critical legislative briefing on a trio of solutions to restore patient care:
• Medicaid De-Privatization (HB2144 / HB2371): Ending the insurance “shell game” and saving up to $145 million per year by moving to a transparent A*O model.
• Medicaid Audits (HB2133): Confirming the State Auditor’s authority to expose administrative waste and misleading accounting.
• Universal Healthcare Planning (HB1789 / HB2143): Starting the 3-year process to build a system that saves 15-20% on total healthcare spending.
Briefing Details:
• When: Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at 6:00 PM HST

Alex Pretti was not a terrorist and we must not look away.

It doesn’t matter that Alex Pretti was a white man, that he was an ICU nurse, that he worked at the VA…he was a human being and had rights because he was a person.

ICE doesn’t have the right to kill people, no matter who they are. No one does.
