The Rotary Club of Kahala Sunrise held itʻs annual service project at the Hāmākua Marsh Wildlife Sanctuary to assist Healthy Climate Communities with itʻs restoration of the Native Hawaiian Forest in Kailua. Members of the Rotary Club of East Honolulu, the Rotary Club of Kaneohe, the Niu Valley Middle School Interact Club, and the Kiwanis Club of Honolulu came out to help. Rotary District 5000 Govenor Ted Faigle flew in from Kauaʻi to participate in the project which included clearing invasive trees in preparation for native tree planting. The Rotary Club of Kahala Sunrise has been coming out since 2017 to support efforts at Hāmākua Marsh.
