Metro Rotary meets every Thursday morning at 7:15am at The Pacific Club, 1451 Queen St. Rotary’s main objective is service — in the community, in the workplace, and around the globe. The 1.2 million Rotarians who make up more than 34,000 Rotary clubs in nearly every country in the world share a dedication to the ideal of Service Above Self. Rotary clubs are open to people of all cultures and any ethnicity and are not affiliated with any political or religious organizations.

It was a rich morning at Metro today. We gave gifts to the children at the Justice Center and then we listened to an informative and inspiring talk by the CEO of Architects Hawaii Limited, Bettina Mehnert. Ms Mehnert discussed the multimillion project for a New Oahu Jail to replace the Oahu Community Correction Center.

Let’s End Polio!
Polio campaigns continue because the virus hasn't been fully eradicated. The wild poliovirus is still circulating in Afghanistan and Pakistan, and variant poliovirus outbreaks are occurring in other areas. Continued efforts are necessary to stop the spread of wild poliovirus, prevent new outbreaks of variant poliovirus, and ultimately protect children worldwide from paralysis and death.
