Sustainability Committee’s meeting will discuss creation of a community garden at Piliwai and Decorte Park, Elementary school food pantries, Stream Clean Up, and other suggestions or community concerns.
There was a mix up in the name of the committees. Apologies for the inconvenience if you were expecting the Communications Committee meeting, but there are plans to meet on another day. Look out for agenda notices on the NCO calendar, or on www8.honolulu.gov/nco/nb16/

On Saturday Nov 25, 2023 representatives from NB 16, NB 15, Tyler Dos-Santos Tam’s office, John Mizuno, Kalihi residents and other interested parties visited Kokua Kalihi Valley Ho’oulu ‘Aina.

🌦️We started the day in a circle where we each gave 3 names; our name, our home, and who we’d want to bring. We welcomed the morning showers, hid from the heavy shower, and quenched our thirst with some mint water. All while in awe of the beauty of the garden and projects.

🌿Ho’oulu ’Aina welcomes volunteers to engage in mālama ‘āina practices such as organic reforestation, gardening, and cultural sharing. Volunteer days are every Monday🪴 and Wednesday💨 as well as every other Saturday💧 To find out more, and to register, go to hoouluaina.org/volunteer

🌱Board member Simeon Rojas envisions a community garden big enough to be sustainable and feed our valley. With enough community awareness and participation, this dream can become reality!
