I shall miss the positive spirit of our colleague and friend, Representative Gene Ward.

Mahalo, Gene, for your decades of dedicated service, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the people of Hawai‘i.

I had the privilege of working alongside you as a UH Legislator-in-Residence, and across the aisle on a few issues. No matter what, you always brought a deep passion for public service and carried the causes you believed in with gentle wisdom, utmost respect, and grace.

You will be greatly missed.

Our thoughts are with your ‘ohana and all whose lives were touched by your presence and work.
