Keep the Hawaiian Islands Beautiful, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and Hawaii state affiliate of Keep America Beautiful, Inc, serves to provide an independent statewide leadership structure and advocate for organizations focused on building “caring communities”. KHIB provides a host of services to these organizations, including coordination of activities, communication, consultation, educati

on, material supply, access to grants and volunteers, data aggregation and dissemination, support to county and state governments, environmental compliance monitoring, and many other services. KHIB has received both state and national recognition and awards for its work, and continues to be a driving force among the organizations it supports which have, in turn, also received recognition for their work. KHIB supported projects and programs include environmental education curriculum development, Litter Hot Line, Uncovered Truck Law, Keep America Beautiful initiatives, The Great American Clean-up, Annual Laulima Conference, Kanahā Beach Park restoration and protection of dunes, wetlands, and native species plantings, AmeriCorps nine week annual service projects, and fostering the establishment of the Patsy Takemoto Mink Center for Environmental Education.
