Hawai‘i Tourism Japan (HTJ) welcomed industry partners from across Japan and Hawai‘i for its annual Japan Summit on April 17 in Honolulu. The gathering brought together more than 260 participants representing airlines, travel companies, media, and local businesses, strengthening connections that support a resilient and responsible visitor industry.

The summit featured business meetings and an evening reception, followed by hosted FAM tours across O‘ahu and Kaua‘i. These experiences highlighted the richness of Hawaiian culture, the innovation of local businesses, and the importance of mālama ʻāina through agritourism and place-based storytelling.

By fostering meaningful relationships and shared ʻike, HTJ continues its work to mālama the visitor experience while deepening connections between Japan and Hawai‘i.

In Hawaiʻi, aloha is more than a feeling—it’s a way of being.

Here, every connection matters. Whether you’re sharing a meal rooted in generations of knowledge, listening to stories woven through hula and mele, or simply pausing to watch the sun rise over ʻāina that has shaped culture for centuries, you’re not just visiting—you’re becoming part of something greater.

This is Hawaiʻi. When you move, listen, laugh, and live like we do, Hawai‘i stays with you.
