The American Library Association student chapter (ALAsc) at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa is excited to promote involvement in all forms of librarianship beyond the classroom as well as creating an environment for the exchange of ideas about trends, issues and opportunities in the profession. We support all forms of librarianship and encourage membership from all students in the LIS program.

Did we ever tell you about the time we got to have thee Julius C. Jefferson Jr., ALA President, talk to our UHM LIS program over Zoom? He thoughtfully discussed how we can develop our skills now to meet the challenging job market ahead and we left invigorated, uplifted, and with renewed hope for the future as we craft our careers and get creative.
