Oahu Medical Reserve Corps The mission of the MRC is to strengthen public health and resiliency in the community

Founded after the President's State of the Union speech that called for each American to serve their country in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. The Medical Reserve Corps has more than 200,000 medical, public health and other volunteers nationally. In Hawaii there are more than 750 men and women who volunteer with one of four units on Maui, Kauai, the Big Island and O’ahu. The Medical Reser

ve Corps (MRC) is a community-based, civilian, volunteer program that helps build the public health infrastructure of communities nationwide. Each MRC unit is organized and trained to address a wide range of challenges from public health education to disaster response.
