Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day 962nd QM CO

On December 7th, 1941, Pearl Harbor suffered a devastating attack, prompting the United States to officially join World War II. The surprise attack by Japanese aircraft claimed the lives of over 2,400 American service members and left a lasting mark on the island of O’ahu and service members throughout the United States Military.

Today, on the 84th anniversary of the Pearl Harbor attacks, Soldiers from the 962nd Quartermaster Company, 9th Mission Support Command, conducted a ruck march in remembrance of our fallen. As the sun rose over Pearl Harbor, Soldiers paid their respects with sweat and strength, as is the Army way. Upon conclusion of the ruck march through Pearl Harbor, Soldiers gathered at the Missing Man Formation on Hickam Field for a moment of silence led by commander Captain Bailey.

It is the honor of the 962nd Quartermaster Company to tread the soil of the fallen. It is our ongoing mission as a Mortuary Affairs company to show respect and reverence to all fallen Soldiers at home and abroad.

Rucking in Remembrance 🇺🇸

U.S. Army Sgt. Harding, A1 Platoon, 962nd Quartermaster Company, and 1st Lt. Lee, formerly with the 962nd and now serving as Executive Officer for the 9th Mission Support Command, completed the Norwegian Foot March hosted by USARPAC Headquarters Battalion Sept. 10-11, 2025, at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Honolulu, Hawaii.

The Norwegian Foot March dates back to 1915 testing combat-readiness in the Norwegian Army. It has since been adapted to build camaraderie, endurance, and international military tradition. This overnight march began at 2300 and required participants to ruck 18.64 miles carrying over 24.25 pounds of dry weight, including donations for the Food Bank of Hawaii. Timed to honor the anniversary of 9/11, all participants carried a flag in remembrance of those who no longer march beside us.

Both Sgt. Harding and 1st Lt. Lee came in around 4 hours and 20 minutes, earning the Marsjmerket badge on their first attempt.
