nds that there is a need to establish a body to improve the State's interface with members of the le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, q***r, plus community; identify the short- and long range needs of its members; and ensure that there is an effective means of researching, planning, and advocating for the equity of this population in all aspects of state government. Accordingly, the purpose of this chapter is to establish a commission to provide for a statewide program, on a permanent and continuing basis, on the status of le***an, gay, bisexual, transgender, q***r, plus individuals in Hawai‘i. Hawai‘i State LGBTQ+ Commission Social Media Comment Policy

We encourage public interaction and communication about the content we post on our social media accounts. However, this does not imply that the Hawai‘i State LGBTQ+ Commission agrees with or accepts the content, opinions, or views expressed within any public comment. While we do not discriminate against views or opinions posted to our social networking accounts, we reserve the right to remove or not approve any comment. A comment will not be edited or modified to remove unacceptable content; the entire comment will simply be deleted. Some of the reasons we may remove or not approve a comment are listed below:

• Abusive, vulgar, obscene, racist, anti-LGBTQIA+, threatening, or harassing comments.
• Libel, slander, or personal attacks of any kind, including the use of offensive terms that target specific individuals, protected classes, or groups.
• Spam, including content that promotes products or services or contains gratuitous links (links or references to other State, County, & Federal government webpages or local & national LGBTQIA+ supportive non-profit organization sites are acceptable).
• Makes unsupported accusations.
• Comments that suggest or encourage illegal, dangerous, or destructive activity.
• Duplicate posts.
• Clearly off topic.
• Political campaigning.
• Comments that are looking for direct support or questions to be answered by the Hawai‘i State LGBTQ+ Commission or a specific Commissioner (for those, please contact the Commission via email at [email protected]). Repeated (defined as 3 or more in a 1-month period) comments that violate this policy may be cause for the user to be blocked. A user may appeal their blocking by submitting a request for a review via email and possible reversal, to Hawai‘i State LGBTQ+ Commission at [email protected]. The Hawai‘i State LGBTQ+ Commission is unable to post comments from children under the age of 13 due to the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If you are 12 years old or younger, you may e-mail us rather than posting a comment. Moderating and posting comments should only be expected to occur during normal business hours. The Hawai‘i State LGBTQ+ Commission, administratively attached to the State of Hawai‘i’s Department of Human Services, uses various third-party social media services for outreach. Use of these social media services may require a membership that subjects users to policies, requirements, or rules beyond the control of the State of Hawai‘i’s Department of Human Services. The State of Hawai‘i’s Department of Human Services does not endorse membership in a particular social media service and takes no responsibility for any content that may be posted by other users. Communications made through social media services will not, in any way, constitute a legal or official notice to the Hawai‘i State LGBTQ+ Commission, the State of Hawai‘i’s Department of Human Services, State of Hawai‘i, or any of its entities, officials, or employees. Ready to Q***R the vote?

To register to vote 🗳️ (in the state of Hawai‘i) you need to be:
1. A U.S. Citizen (Non-U.S. citizens, including U.S. nationals do not qualify),
2. A Resident of the State of Hawai‘i (Residency cannot simply be because of the applicant’s presence in the state, but that residency was acquired with the intent to make Hawai‘i the person’s legal residence with all the accompanying obligation therein.), and
3. At least eighteen (18) years of age (Hawai‘i law allows eligible individuals to pre-register at 16 years of age and upon reaching 18 years of age will automatically be registered to vote and mailed a ballot.)

Register online with a Hawai‘i Driver License or Hawai‘i State ID at olvr.hawaii.gov

UPDATE your voter registration especially if you have moved in the past two (2) years.
