COE Summer Programs Welcome to COE Summer Programs! Our globally recognized program offers hands-on learning for students entering grades 1-9.

Join us to foster a love for education and discovery in an inspiring environment. CRDG Summer Programs at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa is an internationally recognized program for students entering grades 1–12. In a variety of courses designed for curious young minds, students are immersed in hands-on STEAM activities, like building and programming robots, designing rollercoasters from recyc

lables, or competing to build the best catapult. Art, animation, drama, and journalism courses combine fun and creativity to cultivate students' imaginations. Pending health and safety guidelines, field trips will take students beyond the classroom where student scientists will build research techniques at labs and natural sites or aspiring journalists can meet working professionals. From exploring scenic hiking trails and hidden caves to navigating with maps and compasses, every day is filled with exciting opportunities to develop teamwork, resilience, and problem-solving skills.

Every week is a brand-new adventure in our Summer Adventures – Investigators class! Our young explorers dive into exciting weekly themes through hands-on activities that spark curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking.

From discovering fascinating science concepts and creating imaginative art projects to tackling fun engineering challenges, students learn by doing every step of the way. The adventure doesn't stop in the classroom. We'll also head out on exciting field trips to explore our weekly themes in the real world!

🌿⛰️ Adventure is Calling! 🌊🧭

Our Summer Adventures – Challengers class has been making the most of Hawaiʻi as their classroom! From hiking through lush rainforest trails and discovering breathtaking scenic views to cooling off at the beach and tackling exciting outdoor challenges, every day has been a new adventure.

Students are building confidence, teamwork, and resilience while exploring the incredible natural beauty of our islands. Along the way, they're developing practical outdoor skills, learning water safety, and creating unforgettable memories with new friends.

🌿🐸 Summer Adventures Week 1 - Seekers 🌎🦜

Our Summer Adventures: Seekers students kicked off an exciting first week by becoming rainforest explorers! 🌺🌿

As they journeyed through the incredible rainforests of Hawaiʻi and South America, students discovered the amazing plants and animals that call these unique ecosystems home. Through engaging field trips, creative art projects, hands-on science experiments, and active outdoor play, they explored what makes rainforests some of the most diverse environments on Earth.

Along the way, our young explorers practiced critical thinking, teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity as they tackled real-world challenges through project-based learning. Every activity encouraged curiosity, collaboration, and a deeper appreciation for the natural world.

Week one was filled with discovery, adventure, and unforgettable experiences—and this is only the beginning!

Our Summer Adventures Jr. Challengers are off to an incredible start! During their first week, students embraced the spirit of exploration through exciting outdoor adventures, team-building activities, and hands-on challenges that encouraged them to think, move, and work together.

From learning how to read maps and navigate new environments to tackling fun team games and exploring the beauty of Hawaiʻi, our young adventurers built confidence, strengthened friendships, and discovered that every challenge is an opportunity to grow.

We're so proud of their enthusiasm, curiosity, and teamwork as they begin an unforgettable summer of exploration!

🌟🎉 Week 5: What an Incredible Summer! 🎉🌟

As we wrap up the final week of our 2026 College of Education Summer Programs Core Program, we're filled with gratitude and pride for everything our students have accomplished over the past five weeks.

From discovering Hawaiʻi's unique ecosystems and building robots to creating amazing works of art, performing on stage, cooking delicious recipes, exploring journalism, dancing, playing sports, and making lifelong friendships—our students embraced every opportunity to learn, create, and grow.

💚 A heartfelt mahalo to our incredible teachers, teaching assistants, counselors, staff, volunteers, and families for making this summer such a memorable experience. Your dedication, encouragement, and enthusiasm made a lasting impact on every student.

Most importantly, congratulations to our students! Your curiosity, creativity, perseverance, and willingness to try new things inspired us each and every day. We can't wait to see all the amazing things you'll accomplish in the future.

As one adventure comes to a close, we hope the memories, friendships, and lessons from this summer stay with you long after the program ends.

Our Hawaiʻi Nature Studies (HNS) Explorers are becoming the next generation of environmental stewards!

Throughout the summer, students have stepped into the role of real scientists, observing the world around them, asking thoughtful questions, recording discoveries in field journals, and exploring Hawaiʻi's incredible ecosystems through hands-on activities and exciting field trips.

From classroom investigations to unforgettable visits to local nature sites and aquariums, every day has been an opportunity to connect with the unique plants, animals, and environments that make Hawaiʻi so special.

🌱 In HNS Explorers, students learned to:
📝 Observe and record their discoveries like scientists
🌺 Explore Hawaiʻi's native plants, animals, and ecosystems
🐠 Experience learning beyond the classroom through field trips
💚 Build a deeper appreciation for caring for our islands and natural resources

Watching our students grow into curious explorers and thoughtful caretakers of our environment has been one of the highlights of the summer!

🌟 Week 4 is in Full Swing at the COE Summer Programs! 🌟

What an incredible summer it has been! As we finish Week 4, our students continue to learn, create, explore, and grow through hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and build confidence.

🎨 Our young artists are bringing their imaginations to life through colorful projects and creative challenges.

⚽ Students are staying active with sports, teamwork, and friendly competition.

💃 Dancers are building confidence as they learn new choreography and express themselves through movement.

🌿 Our Hawaiʻi Nature Studies students are exploring the unique ecosystems of our islands and discovering the wonders of the natural world.

Every classroom is filled with laughter, creativity, new friendships, and unforgettable memories. Seeing our students challenge themselves, celebrate their accomplishments, and support one another has made this summer truly special.
