Another wonderful Mauka to Makai Weekend! Mahalo to Kaala Farms and Na K**a Kai for hosting the respective days this past weekend! Mahalo to Elepaio Services, WCCHC, and numerous continued sponsors for to providing these days for our community to get involved with the beautiful natural world around us! Thankful for any excuse to have a field day and play in the lo’i or the kai 🩵

Mahlo to the Outlawz for inviting me to attend their team benefit concert! It was so nice to see everyone coming together for a cause that supports our keiki’s dreams of participating in sports. Providing our children with opportunities to participate in sports allows them to find productive outlets that keep them off the streets and in fun/safe programs! 🏈⚽️🏀🏐

ALOHA DIAPER BANK BENEFIT LUNCHEON 2024 👶🏽

Thankful to attend the Aloha Diaper Bank Benefit Luncheon! It was a wonderful event that was masquerade theme! All donations go to the Aloha Diaper Bank which offers families in need with access to diapers. When families are not able to afford diapers, it impacts the entire wellbeing of the household. The diaper bank provides financial relief for the parents while supporting the health/safety of the child. They even offer resources for Kupuna.

NATIVE HAWAIIAN CONVENTION 2024 🔥

Mahalo to CNHA for putting on another wonderful convention for our people! Mahalo to all of the sponsors and participants for contributing to the conference! Most importantly, mahalo to Hawaii Island for hosting all of us during our time there 💚 We got to learn more about our history, our people, and the challenges that we continue to overcome as kānaka. It is always a great time when you have to say aloha to someone every 5 seconds!

NĀNĀKULI PUBLIC LIBRARY MĀNAIAKALANI SCULPTURE DEDICATION CEREMONY 2024 🪝

Mahalo to the State Library System and the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts for including this beautiful sculpture in our community. The artist, Scott Fitzell, did an amazing job on connecting the meaning of the sculpture to the community. It is always wonderful to highlight the positive events in our community! Nānākuli Eā!

Mahalo to Youth Challenge Academy for inviting me to meet and speak with the cadets! I am thoroughly impressed by their presentation and character. I am thankful I got to share my story with them and hopefully inspired them to fight for their dreams. As we continue to see, traditional classroom settings do not work for everyone, it is important that we continue to advocate and support alternative learning programs for our students in order to offer them opportunities for the future.

CIP RELEASE ALERT 🚨

Mahalo to Governor Green for releasing the Capitol Improvement Project Funds for the Nanakuli Public Library! $250,000 will be used to build a shade structure for the outside area of the program room.
