Joy is contagious when it is shared. The process begins in the kitchen, where meals are prepared with care before being loaded into vans for delivery or picked up by HUB leaders. From that kitchen to the hands of our guests, there is a unique warmth that fills the space when local churches and neighbors come together. Sometimes the next step forward starts with being welcomed in.
Recently, Jeff shared about his experience at a HUB in town and how it became a place of stability, support, and real connection during a difficult season.
A place with meals, resources, prayer, and volunteers who genuinely cared.
A place that helped him begin moving forward and eventually off the streets.
So many people are searching for a way forward and someone willing to walk alongside them.

The model clicked when she saw the map.

Teresa from the L.A. Mission visited River of Life Mission and saw something simple, personal, and deeply needed: churches becoming close-to-home places where neighbors can receive prayer, food, resources, and steady care.

Not just a building.
A body of people stepping out together.

There’s always a moment everything changes.
A HUB leader hadn’t seen this guest in a while, then they ran into each other again.
But everything was different.
She has a job. She found Jesus. Her life is moving forward.
In Gospel of Luke 15:17, it says when he came to his senses.
That moment is where the journey home begins.
HUBs, a collaboration with River of Life Mission, are where these moments happen every day.

Before the decision.
Before the change.
Before anything looks different on the outside.
In the Gospel of Luke 15 story of the prodigal son, the father sees him while he is still a long way off.
That is the heart of Jesus. Grace before perfection.
Right in the heart of Honolulu, the HUB at St. Elizabeth’s Church is a place where people are seen, known, and welcomed just as they are.
No matter how far it feels, you are never out of sight of the Father.

She uses her PTO to serve.

Noemi flies to Hawaii, volunteers full time for a week, and helps unlock a $500 employer grant for River of Life Mission.

That is the kind of quiet generosity we get to witness through so many amazing volunteers.
