River Horse will be a tour, restaurant, event venue, and new draw to the hospitality industry of the Columbia River Gorge. The primary place of business will be aboard one of several available 85’-110’ distinctive charter vessels and operations will occur primarily between Hood River and The Dalles. We are currently soliciting investors, strategic business partners, and community support for this
project. The bigger the following and the more feed back we have, the better the outcome. The year 2010 brought more than 2.4M visitors to the Mid-Columbia Gorge but the majority, ~90%, have no opportunity to access the river. River Horse will give visitors of all ages an opportunity to access the river on a distinctive charter vessel. Wedding groups, private parties, business functions, education groups, wine clubs, fund raisers, conferences, dinner cruise patrons, and the community at large will all benefit from our new service
The founder is Chris Havard, a master mariner and local resident. Chris will be serving as president and senior captain. River Horse, LLC is negotiating with long-time resident and seasoned business professional, Jette McCarthy to be the director of operations. River Horse will create several full-time positions (4-6) plus an additional (3-5) seasonal positions depending on the requirements of the vessel.
