Hood River County Burn Ban will take effect Friday, 5/15/26. The decision was made by the Hood River County Fire Chiefs in effort to reduce the risk of wildfire due to unseasonably dry conditions throughout our region. Escaped debris burns are the number one human-related cause of wildfires in the State of Oregon.

Road update from county Public Works:

There are several road closures due to water and debris hazards, including:
• Country Club Road: From Frankton Road to Post Canyon Road
• Barrett Drive: From Country Club Road to Markham Road
• Woodworth Drive: From Allen Drive to Hwy 35
• Hwy 35: From MP 73 to 75.89

The following roads are open but have significant standing water:
• Multnomah Road
• Markham Road
• Methodist Road

Please avoid these areas. Drive with caution and expect delays. Anticipate heavy water and debris in roadways throughout the county. Visit TripCheck.com for current travel advisories.

Sandbags are still available at Hood River County Public Works (918 18th Street).

To prepare for possible flooding near your home or business, Hood River County has free sand and sandbags available at two locations:

📍 Hood River County Fairgrounds (3020 Wyeast Road):
Filled sandbags available for pickup, while supplies last.

📍 Hood River County Public Works (918 18th Street):
Sand and empty bags are provided for you to fill. Please bring a shovel and gloves.
Once you enter the property, please head toward the south side of the lot, following signs towards “County Forestry”

Please use these supplies only if needed. We will continue to update you as new information becomes available.
