City of Hoonah Parks & Rec will be hosting our Independence Day celebrations on Saturday, July 4th in the evening following the ship departure! 🇺🇸 vendor sign ups are now OPEN - and vendors can set up and sell all day on the 4th, or just during the evening festivities. 🤩 if you would like to sign up for a booth, please text or call 907-209-3836. booth fee will need to be paid at City Hall during business hours. 🎆

Gym will be open 3:30-9PM (welcoming Tyr home at 3 & then will be up!)
Open Swim 5-7PM
Evening Lap Swim 7-8PM
Youth Center is closed.

June 2026 Parks & Rec Schedule
*Please note the adjusted hours for the gym for the first part of the month due to staff shortages.
*We also have several Youth Center closures and one Gym closure - so take note of those.
*We also have a few days that the pool is not open in the afternoon/evening, so plan accordingly.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we do our best to keep facilities open as often as possible. 🫶🏼

Friendly reminder: the Youth Center is an open-door facility, and youth are free to come and go throughout the day.

While we do keep track of who is in the building, staff are not able to monitor children once they choose to leave the facility. We kindly ask parents/guardians to have a plan in place with their child regarding where they are expected to be after leaving the center.

If you are curious whether your child is in attendance at the club, feel free to call our landline at 907-945-3450. Please try to refrain from contacting staff on their personal devices, and/or personal messenger, and utilize the landline that the City of Hoonah has provided for us to use.

Thank you for understanding and for helping us keep the Youth Center a safe and positive space for everyone.

Monday, 5/25: there will be no Open Swim or Evening Lap Swim, but the Youth Center will be open 10AM-6PM and the gym will be open 2PM-9PM!
