Tribal Broadband Bootcamp #23 in the books! Hoopa hosted our colleagues and family from Mohawk Networks, Fort Bidwell, Hopi Telecommunications, Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, Warm Springs Telecommunications, CPUC, etc. We were able to showcase and share knowledge with our partners across Indian Country. So thankful for Matthew Rantanen and Christopher Mitchell for your visionary leadership over the past 5 years to bring over 100 Tribes together to learn, grow and teach about broadband networks! We appreciate everyone’s understanding and patience as we prioritize safety during this time. A new event date will be announced once conditions improve and it is safe to move forward.

📸 Pic of the Week: HVPUD Hosts Tribal Broadband Bootcamp

Hoopa Valley Public Utilities District is hosting the Tribal Broadband Bootcamp this week, bringing together Tribes to connect, share their broadband projects, and exchange lessons learned along the way.

The Bootcamp gives Tribal broadband teams a chance to learn from one another's experiences, from planning and permitting to construction and community outreach, as more Tribes work to build and manage their own networks.

Community Update: Drone Survey Operations Paused

Following up on last week's notice about drone survey operations for the SB156 Middle Mile and NTIA Last Mile projects: due to current wildfire activity in the area, drone flights are being held off.

Per FAA regulations, our survey team is required to check for other aircraft activity before conducting any drone flights. If aircraft activity is present in the area, operations will not proceed.

We will continue to hold off on drone surveys until the fire is contained and there is no other aircraft activity in the area.

Questions? Contact HVPUD at (530) 625-4543 for more information.

Thanks to the PUD team for showing up for our community. We had fun as a team for the Sovereign Day Parade.
