🎆 FIREWORK SAFETY REMINDER FROM THE HOOPER VOLUNTEER FIRE DISTRICT 🎆

As we prepare to celebrate Independence Day, the Hooper Volunteer Fire District would like to remind everyone to enjoy fireworks safely and responsibly.

🚒 Firework Safety Tips:
• Always have a bucket of water or a garden hose nearby.
• Never allow young children to light fireworks without adult supervision.
• Only light one firework at a time and move away quickly.
• Never relight a firework that fails to go off.
• Keep spectators at a safe distance.
• Dispose of used fireworks by soaking them in water before throwing them away.
• Never use fireworks while impaired by alcohol or drugs.
• Be considerate of your neighbors, pets, and veterans who may be sensitive to loud noises.

📅 City of Hooper Firework Ordinance Hours:
• June 25 – July 3: 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM
• July 4: 8:00 AM to 12:00 AM (midnight)

Please be respectful of these permitted times and help keep our community safe while celebrating our nation’s independence.

If an emergency occurs, call 911 immediately.

Have a safe and happy Fourth of July from your Hooper Volunteer Fire District! 🇺🇸🎇

Yesterday, members of the Hooper Volunteer Fire District, Nickerson Volunteer Fire Department, and the Hooper City Pool lifeguards had the opportunity to participate in specialized training provided by Clarkson College EMS Education.
The training focused on water emergencies, drowning recognition and response, and Stop the Bleed techniques—critical skills that can make a life-saving difference when seconds count.
We would like to thank Clarkson College EMS Education for sharing their knowledge and expertise, and all participants for their dedication to keeping our communities safe. Through continued training and collaboration, we are better prepared to respond when our community needs us most.
