Through the generosity of Creative Custom Woodcraft in Hoosick, The Hoosick Volunteer Fire Department is holding an Adirondack Chair raffle! Tickets can be obtained from any HFD member! The roads were a bit slick Friday afternoon causing this tractor trailer to jackknife on Route 7 in the area of Mapletown Road! Crews had to manage traffic control while waiting for a tree crew from National Grid so that when the trailer was removed the tree which was snapped didn’t take down the primary wires.

Tonight we held a coordinated rescue drill between our FD and a crew from the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad. The mission was to locate and extricate a victim who had become injured after falling from a tree stand approximately 1/2 mile into the woods. Rescuers reach the scene in ATV-16 and the victim, a rescue dummy, was examined by THRS members and stabilized before being transported to a waiting ambulance! Nice job by all… preparing for the worst!!!

We have just cleared an accident on rt 7 by Tammy kettle. National grid will be on scene for awhile one lane closed. Traffic light is out.

Hoosick fire had a active Monday afternoon and evening. Apx 330 pm car accident rt7 by county craft furniture with minor injuries. Around 6pm car into a building at Tammy kettle. The pictures show how bad this one was. Our members along with the Town of Hoosick rescue squad work as one well oiled extrication team. Hoosick Falls Fire landed the helicopter at the school. Thank you to all. Third call of the night was a furnace problem in Hoosick Falls.
