The Hoosick Historical Society celebrates the heritage of a town rich with historical significance tracing back to the colonial era. It is our mission to explore, preserve, and share the history and artifacts that commemorate the town of Hoosick and celebrate its role in the growth and development of the region. Through the work of the Louis Miller Museum, our public events, our genealogy resources, and special projects, we connect the community with our shared past.

It's days like today that make volunteering at the Louis Miller Museum on an almost daily basis, so well worth the effort.
When you have people drop in to find out information about their ancestors and you are able to come up with details they did not have and they are so thrilled and share hugs upon leaving. I always feel we have made new forever friends when this happens.
Believe me, it doesn't always happen so positively, but we do have so much valuable history and information at our small little museum, and it is so rewarding to make someone happy.
We do strive to find everything we can to fill the gaps in a family history.
Volunteerism is so rewarding!
