Student Spotlight: Jayden 🧰

Jayden, a senior at Lawrence County Career Technical Center, is making great strides in the welding world!

🔥 With multiple certifications already under his belt—including numerous welding certifications and OSHA 10—Jayden recently achieved an incredible milestone: 3rd place nationally at the KWI National Senior Welding Competition, competing against 250 students from 23 states!

🏆 His achievements earned him a $10,000 scholarship, a welding machine, and more—plus a Presidential Leadership Scholarship to Northwest Shoals Community College.

Jayden’s success is a testament to his hard work and the dedication of his instructor, Brian Tidwell. We can’t wait to see what he accomplishes next!

This morning, we celebrated a major milestone for 32 outstanding seniors from ACS Champions Craft Academy who officially signed on to begin their careers in the commercial construction industry right after graduation.

This Signing Day ceremony marks more than a commitment—it’s the start of meaningful, in-demand careers that will help shape our communities for years to come. These students are stepping confidently into the workforce, equipped with the skills, training, and determination to succeed because of the resources that the team at Alabaster City Schools have given them!

CICT is proud to support pathways like this through training grants that connect talent with opportunity.

🏆 Big news for Alabaster City Schools!

The Champions Craft Academy has been awarded the Alabama Work-Based Learning Seal of Excellence: one of the highest honors in the state for career-focused education. The CCA was selected as 1 of only 5 programs statewide to receive this prestigious distinction!

This recognition highlights CCA’s innovative simulated workplace model, where students gain real-world experience in a structured, hands-on environment that prepares them for future careers.

We’re also proud to share that our students are already taking the spotlight, presenting this award-winning program and sharing their experiences with educators from across the state!
