It’s always exciting to see new business ventures taking root in our community.

Welcome, Noir Cafe, a new spot coming to the Hoover Public Library, thanks to the vision of Tiffaney Strayhorne and Tierra Jeter. They are targeting a May 1st opening, and I’m already looking forward to my first brew and pastry.

Next time you're dropping off books or heading in for a meeting after they open, make sure to stop by the Plaza and welcome them to the neighborhood!

I wanted to take a moment to share some encouraging feedback we've been receiving recently about the atmosphere at our City Council meetings. Hearing that our sessions feel "friendly, open, transparent, inclusive" is incredibly motivating!

This positive change in our culture isn't the result of just one person; it's a reflection of the commitment and mutual respect shared by the entire Council, Mayor, City Staff, and, most importantly, our engaged Citizens.

During this Thanksgiving Week, I offer my deepest gratitude to our dynamic team for their dedication and to all of you who show up - in person or in spirit - to participate in our local democracy. When we operate as a unified team with a common goal, we truly can accomplish great things for the City of Hoover.

Let's keep building on this foundation together!

To God be the Glory πŸ™

Great morning showcasing two very different, but equally important, parts of our Hoover community!

Started the day with my good buddy, Crash, at the groundbreaking ceremony for the major expansion of the National Computer Forensics Institute (NCFI). This project will greatly expand NCFI's training capacity, reinforcing Hoover's role as a national leader in cybersecurity and law enforcement education. A big step forward for public safety and economic impact in our city!

Then, we quickly shifted gears for a heartwarming visit to the Hoover Senior Center for their craft fair. So much talent on display, and Crash loved making new friends! It was wonderful to see the vibrant community and creativity of our seniors. The Senior Center truly is a gem in Hoover!

It’s an honor to serve a city that supports both cutting-edge technology/safety and the well-being and community life of our valued residents.

What an incredible and productive Council Orientation Day!
It’s inspiring to see the incoming Council "getting to work" with such enthusiasm and dedication right from the start.
A huge thank you to all the regional leaders who attended Coffee & Connections, sharing their insights and actively networking. Your presence helped foster vital relationships that will undoubtedly strengthen our City as we move forward together.
We are also deeply grateful to Tom Albritton, Executive Director of the Alabama Ethics Commission, for providing crucial information on ethical governance. His guidance ensures we uphold the highest standards of integrity in all our actions.
And a special shout-out to our former Council members, Admiral Natter, Joe Rives, and Mike Shaw! Your wisdom and experience shared from past councils were invaluable, offering us all a fantastic foundation of wisdom and best practices.
Here are a few snaps from the day!
