Two sidelines, one incredible community, and lots of school spirit! 🧡🖤💙

The Bucs and Jags gave us a battle until the very end, and the energy from the stands was amazing! We loved seeing our community show up, cheer loud, and celebrate our students and schools.

Two teams, one community, and so much to be proud of!

We love seeing our high school students lead by example and invest in our younger student leaders!

Our elementary student leaders spent the day at Spain Park High School for the SGA Leadership Academy. Through activities focused on teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity, our students got a firsthand look at what it means to be a leader.

Thank you to our SPHS SGA students for hanging out with our young leaders and sharing some great advice. Spain Park High School

What makes a great principal? We went straight to the experts…our students!

October is National Principals Month, and our students have a few things to say about what makes their principals so special! We couldn’t agree more!

Let us know what you ❤️ about your principal below.

Our families are amazing! They do so much to support our schools, students, and staff, and this week we felt that love at the Central Office!

A big thank you to the Hoover High School PTSO for treating our team to snacks and a dirty soda bar! The Dolly theme was the perfect touch and made it even more fun! We are so thankful for our families. We hope everyone has a great Fall Break.

What makes Hoover City Schools special? It’s our people and the opportunities they create for students every day.

Hear from our students and staff about how HCS helps students find their place, dream big, and build momentum for what comes next. Our future is just getting started! 🎥

Join us as we thank our amazing custodians, who not only keep our schools clean and welcoming but also bring so much love to our schools every day. They take care of our buildings and do so much behind the scenes for our faculty, staff, and students. We are so thankful for all our custodians!

We loved cheering on our HCS panelists at the State of Our Schools Luncheon hosted by the Shelby County Chamber today. They did a wonderful job sharing about their experiences in Hoover City Schools and some of the exciting things happening across our district.

We’re so proud of the way they represented HCS:
✏️ Alice - 5th grader at Riverchase Elementary
🎓 Anderson - 12th grader at RC3
🍎 Ms. Shin - Spain Park English Language Learner (ELL) teacher

A big thank you to the Shelby County Chamber for bringing the community together and giving our students and staff the chance to share their stories. The Shelby County Chamber

Join us in celebrating one of our amazing HCS teachers! Congratulations to Christy Bain, special education teacher at Brock’s Gap Intermediate School, for being named a recipient of the 2026 Outstanding Special Education Teacher Award by the National Association of Special Education Teachers!

She is one of only 12 teachers nationwide selected for this honor and the only educator from Alabama to receive the award this year.

The award recognizes special education teachers for their dedication to students, continued learning, and work to create opportunities for all students.

We are proud to celebrate Ms. Bain and the difference she makes for her students and families each day!

After monitoring the weather forecast, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the outdoor HCS Health & Wellness Fair scheduled for this Saturday, October 3. We’re disappointed, but we believe this is the best decision for our vendors, volunteers, families, and community.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. We look forward to seeing you next year on October 16, 2027, when the fair will be held indoors at the Finley Center!
