You will create your own hand-painted flag door hanger in celebration of America’s 250th Anniversary Celebration! No experience needed and all supplies are provided. Just come ready to relax, enjoy light snacks, and create!

SCAM ALERT

Possible Pine Straw Scammers in the Area

We’ve seen this scam before...

Individuals may go door-to-door offering pine straw services, claiming they just completed work nearby and can provide a “great deal” compared to other providers. They often quote a low price per bale to gain the homeowner’s trust.

Once the pine straw is laid (sometimes even without the homeowner’s consent) the individuals return demanding an extremely high payment for the materials and labor. If the homeowner questions the amount, the individuals may become confrontational or attempt to pressure the resident into paying to avoid further conflict.

Please do not do business with unknown or unverified individuals who show up at your door offering services.

Reminder: Anyone soliciting door-to-door in Hoover is required to have a valid Solicitor/Peddler Permit issued by the City of Hoover. As part of the permit process, applicants undergo a background check.

It was a privilege to attend the Hoover Songbirds' celebration today, where these selfless individuals and musicians performed as a senior show choir. They regularly entertain at various senior living communities and other locations.

Hoover New Horizons honored the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country at the May luncheon event. Members enjoyed Sam Pointer as our featured entertainment.
