Constituted August 16, 1955 in Army Reserves as the 314th Public Information Field Service Detachment

Activated September 1, 1955 at East Rochester, New Hampshire

Location changed February 1, 1956 to Milton, New Hampshire, on April 1, 1957 to Rochester, New Hampshire

Reorganized and redesignated July 18, 1958 as the 314th

Public Information Detachment

Inactivated September 1, 1959 at Rochester, New Hampshire

Activated March 1, 1963 at Manchester, New Hampshire

Inactivated April 10, 1964 at Manchester, New Hampshire

Redesigned April 16, 1982 as the 314th Public Affairs Detachment and activated at Birmingham, Alabama

Ordered into active military service August 30, 1990 at Birmingham, Alabama; released from active military service November 28, 1990 and reverted back to reserve status

Ordered into active military service November 24, 2001 at Birmingham, Alabama; released from active military service August 12, 2002 and reverted back to reserve status

Ordered into active military service December 5, 2008 at Birmingham, Alabama; released from active military service January 8, 2010 and reverted back to reserve status
