We could not be more proud of Mrs. Fogleman and our school getting recognized at the state level for this amazing program. Our students have been exposed to so many jobs, careers, passions, and hobbies through this interactive program. I’m not sure who enjoys it more, the kids, or our community partners.

Brock’s Gap Intermediate School has been recognized as a 2024 CLAS School of Distinction for its innovative Genius Lab program! This honor from the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools (CLAS) celebrates outstanding educational initiatives that inspire students and set the bar for excellence across Alabama.

The Genius Lab is more than just a classroom. It’s a hub for creativity, collaboration, and community connections. Thanks to generous support from the school’s PTO, the Genius Lab has offered 25+ hands-on learning labs led by local “geniuses,” with 400+ students exploring new skills, passions, and interests.

A huge shoutout to the incredible educators, families, and community partners who have made the Genius Lab possible.

A big thank you to Mr. Parker Hershey (Doster Construction) and Mr. Rix Curtis (Hoar Construction), this afternoon's guests in our Genius Lab! They taught our students four important components of construction project management: safety, quality, schedule, and cost. Students then had a chance to practice these through a toothpick structure challenge!

No kid sleeps on the floor in our town! We are excited to partner with Sleep in Heavenly Peace for next week's Kindness Week! Today, as a Genius Lab experience, students worked with Mr. Jerry and Mrs. Carolyn Murray to build a bunk bed, just like those given to children in our community through SHP.
