The Explorer's purpose is to provide experiences to help young people ma
ture and to prepare them to become responsible and caring adults. Explorers are ready to investigate the meaning of interdependence in their personal relationships and communities. Exploring is based on a unique and dynamic relationship between youth and the organizations in their communities. The Hopatcong Police Department will initiate an Explorer post by matching the officers and program resources to the interests of young people in the community. Meeting times will vary and explorers will be given ample notice. Candidates looking to join the post must be:
Between the ages of 14 to 20 years old
Have no criminal record
Maintain a "C" average or above
Present a neat and clean appearance
Be able to attend 2 meetings a month
Follow all post rules and regulations
