On April 21, our members responded to a structure fire on Greenwood Avenue alongside the Hopatcong Police Department and mutual aid companies.
Thanks to the Police and all involved for the quick response and strong coordination on scene.

On April 21, 2026, patrol units responded to a reported possible structure fire on Greenwood Avenue. Upon arrival, officers observed active flames coming from the right side of the residence. The homeowner confirmed that all occupants and dog had safely exited the home, though a family cat remained inside.
The Hopatcong Fire Department quickly arrived on scene and assumed command, with assistance from mutual aid departments.
Fire crews successfully extinguished the blaze.
In a positive outcome, firefighters were able to locate the family cat inside the home. The animal was safely removed, placed into a carrier, and returned to the family.
We are grateful for the swift response and teamwork of all agencies involved in ensuring the safety of the residents and pets.
