Today we recognize and celebrate our incredible paraprofessionals across the Kenai Peninsula Borough School District for National Paraprofessional Day.

Paraprofessionals play an essential role in supporting student learning, building meaningful relationships, and helping create safe, inclusive, and engaging classrooms. Their patience, compassion, and dedication make a lasting difference in the lives of our students each and every day.

From providing one-on-one support to assisting in classrooms and helping meet the diverse needs of learners, their contributions do not go unnoticed. Our schools are stronger because of their commitment and care.

Thank you to all KPBSD paraprofessionals for the important work you do and the positive impact you have on our students, staff, and community.

We realize Alyeska is over but do not be sad. Our annual 3 School Field Day is scheduled for May 12th! We will be speaking with students and parents in the coming weeks about how we could all make this our most successful, fun, and engaging event ever!

Homer Area Live Hiring Event

Interested in working with First Student? Community members are invited to attend a Live Hiring Event in Homer.

🗓 Friday, February 13
⏰ 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
📍 Alaska Job Center, Homer

At this event, applicants will be able to apply and interview on site for current employment opportunities with First Student. This is a great opportunity to learn more about joining the team that supports student transportation in our schools.

Bonus community fun:
Watch for First Student in the Homer Winter Carnival Parade on Saturday, February 14 — they will be floating a school bus and celebrating with the community.
