Come out and support the Hope Fire Department at the Cruise-In Car Show on Friday, June 5th from 5PM–8PM!

We’ll be serving up great food while you enjoy an evening full of awesome classic cars, friends, and family fun!

🚒 Accident 🚒

Last night shortly after 9:00 PM, the Hope Fire Department responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of County Road 450 North and County Road 700 East.

Upon arrival, crews found that a vehicle had struck a utility pole, breaking the pole and bringing electrical lines down across the roadway. The downed lines were actively arching which ignited a small fire in the nearby tall grass.

Due to the energized power lines, firefighters were unable to safely extinguish the fire until the electrical service was shut off. Once the electric company arrived and secured the power, crews quickly extinguished the small grass fire and ensured the area was safe.

The occupants of the vehicle were evaluated on scene but declined medical transport.

The roadway remained closed for several hours while the utility company worked to repair the damaged pole and power lines.

We would like to remind everyone to use extreme caution around downed power lines and always assume they are energized. Please stay clear of these hazards and allow emergency crews and utility workers the space they need to work safely.
