Our Secretary is making big moves at such a young age!

We are proud to celebrate an incredible achievement for Hope Public Schools.

Hope High School student Jair Arroyo has been selected as the Arkansas recipient of the Billy Michal Student Leadership Award, a national honor presented by the National Association of Student Councils.

This award recognizes one student per state who demonstrates excellence in leadership, service, character, and citizenship — and Jair is now representing not only our district, but the entire state of Arkansas.

Out of students across the country, Jair has been recognized as one of the top student leaders and will travel to New Orleans this June to be honored alongside other recipients from across the nation.

This is a powerful reflection of who Jair is and what he represents — hard work, integrity, and leadership in action.

We are extremely proud of you, Jair. You are representing Hope the right way.

I’m honored to share that my former primary opponent, Mayor Ethan Dunbar, has endorsed our campaign.

Ethan is the kind of public servant I aspire to be. A retired Command Sergeant Major, soldier, leader, and now Mayor of Lewisville, he has spent his life serving others and fighting for rural communities in Arkansas. I’m grateful to have his support as we move forward together.

Campaigns can be competitive, but this race is bigger than any one person. It’s about fighting for Arkansas and making sure hard work means a good life again for everyone.

ARKANSAS, WE DID IT!

Tonight, I am so grateful for everyone who helped me win. To everyone who donated, dialed, or went door to door – THANK YOU. I’m also just so proud of my amazing daughters for saddling up and running this race with me again.

I ran in 2024 and lost by just a couple hundred votes. That loss hurt, but it also taught us so much. Mainly, it taught us that North Little Rock and Sherwood are primed for change. Thousands of people told us that year that they were sick and tired of single-party GOP rule in Arkansas – and the corruption and lack of transparency that has come with it.

They’re tired of politicians who chip away at Arkansans’ rights. They’re tired of politicians who promise to address the cost of living and then don’t. They’re tired of politicians who campaign on limited government, win, and then abuse their power. They’re tired of leaders who undermine our schools, our small businesses, and our health providers.

The People are ready to hold our state’s leaders accountable, and that’s what this election was about. Thank you for trusting me with your vote. With my new colleagues, I will work tirelessly to make good on my promise to center the cost of living and government transparency in my work.

I have so many Republican friends, so many Democratic friends, and so many friends in-between. This race was never about the political parties. I’m humbled to get to represent ALL of us - actually, I am over-joyed.

Thank you, North Little Rock & Sherwood. Tomorrow, I’ve got my first legislative meetings to attend, so I’m going to get some sleep.
