Liz Hannibal Drury will read her children's book, Davis Goes Apple Picking, followed by a story book activity. Saturday, June 13th, from 10-11. Refreshments

Elizabeth (Liz) Hannibal Drury, a Hope local, considers herself an author/illustrator-in-training. As a former educator, Lix collaborated with students to write and self-publish "Davis Goes Apple Picking," a delightful children's picture book about Davis, the good, good dog. Join Liz with your 3-8 year old at the Hope Library on June 13 from 10:00-11:00 for story time where she will read her book. LIz likes to hear insights from children about what they notice and love, and even ideas for future stories! Children will also get a sneak preview of Liz's next book about Davis the dog, Growing and learning alongside others is a lifelong passion for Liz, and children will get to share ideas for their own writing and illustrating during the activity portion of the read aloud. Lite refreshments will be served. Join us!

Hope residents Sandie Sabaka and Brendan Curran ventured to the High Arctic of Svalbard in September 2019. They spent 11 days aboard a small icebreaker ship on a private charter through the fjords and pack ice of this Norwegian archipelago that lies 600 miles from the North Pole. Svalbard is a place of austere beauty where polar bears, walrus and seals live amongst the snow and ice while the bird life and Arctic light dance overhead. It was truly a trip of a lifetime and a most powerful experience for these adventure travelers.
