Wrapping up the final day of the 2026 AEDCE Conference – Business in the ’Boro!

We kicked off the day with the State of the State Breakfast, followed by breakout sessions, more networking, and plenty of opportunities to learn from economic and community development professionals from across Arkansas.

It’s been a great few days of conversations, connections, and new ideas to take back home to Hope and Hempstead County. Grateful for the opportunity to represent our community, continue learning, and build relationships across the state!

Anna Lee Powell, of the Hempstead County Economic Development Corporation, has been selected to serve as secretary/treasurer on the 2027 executive committee of the Arkansas Economic Developers & Chamber Executives (AEDCE)!

Beginning Jan 1, 2027, Powell will join economic development and chamber leaders from across Arkansas in helping guide AEDCE’s efforts to strengthen communities and economic development throughout the state.

Southwest Arkansas Regional Medical Center (SWARMC) is hosting two free Medicare Made Simple Lunch & Learn events in September to help community members better understand their Medicare coverage and options ahead of Open Enrollment.

Attendees will learn about Medicare, the differences between Traditional Medicare and Medicare Advantage, and how to better understand their coverage options. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions in a relaxed setting.
