🚨 Carbon Monoxide Safety During a Blizzard 🚨
As winter storms hit Hopedale, it’s important to remember that carbon monoxide (CO) can be just as dangerous as the storm itself. CO is an invisible, odorless gas that can quickly become deadly if safety precautions aren’t followed.
🌨️ During a Blizzard, Please Remember:
Never run generators, grills, or propane heaters inside your home, garage, or near windows and doors.
Keep furnace, dryer, and stove vents clear of snow and ice. Blocked vents can force CO back into your home.
Do not warm vehicles in a closed or partially closed garage, even if the garage door is open.
Use only approved heating sources and ensure fireplaces and wood stoves are properly vented.
Make sure you have working carbon monoxide detectors on every level of your home and near sleeping areas.
⚠️ Signs of Carbon Monoxide Exposure:
Headache, dizziness, nausea, confusion, or chest pain. If your CO alarm sounds or you experience symptoms, get outside to fresh air immediately and call 911.
Your safety is our top priority. Please take a few extra minutes to prepare and stay aware so everyone in our community stays safe during this storm.
Stay warm, stay safe, and look out for your neighbors. ❄️🔥
