These beautiful cone flowers are located in the pollinator garden at the Little Red Shop Museum. The pollinator garden was an Eagle Scout Project constructed and planted last year by Troop One Hopedale Eagle Scout Cameron McDonald. Cameron was honored at his Eagle Scout Court of Honor yesterday. Thank you, Cameron, for this beautiful and purposeful addition to the grounds of our historical Little Red Shop Museum.

The Little Red Shop Museum will be closed on Sunday, July 5th. Due to the holiday weekend, we will not be open, as we customarily are, for the first Sunday of this month.

We expect to still be open on the Wednesdays before and after that weekend, July 1st and 8th from 6 - 8 p.m. in accordance with our normal Wednesday schedule.

Thank you for your continued patronage of this special place, included in the legislation establishing the Blackstone River Valley National Historical Park in 2014. It has been noted that "Hopedale was instrumental in the industrialization of the Country."

We should reach out to local colleges

Meet Grace. Grace is our new summer intern for the Salisbury Mansion. She is a senior at Clark University, majoring in Political Science and History. When asked why she studies history, she replied “I love history because it helps explain why our world is the way it is. By studying the past, we can learn about important events, decisions, and people that have shaped societies and cultures.”

When she was asked why she wanted to intern at the Salisbury Mansion she said “I had been to the Salisbury Mansion before, during its yearly Home for the Holidays event, when the house is beautifully decorated for the holidays, each room telling a unique story. I saw the home as being somewhere I wanted to return to. The site manager, Heather, has been such a great person to talk to, not only incredibly knowledgeable, but also a joy to spend time with. The volunteers who also give tours are equally fun to work with. It has been very special getting to know such kind people.” Grace has come full circle and will be helping with both researching and planning for this year’s Home for the Holidays!

Come see Grace at the Salisbury Mansion, open Thursday through Saturday with tours at 1, 2 and 3pm.

The Little Red Shop Museum has metal stars from the demolished Draper Factory. We do request a donation of $50. We also have bricks from the Draper Factory for a donation of your choice. PM us on our FB page if you are interested.
