Each spring, the officers and members of the East Fishkill Fire District dedicate an entire week to cleaning, repairing, and detailing all vehicles and equipment from its six stations in preparation for inspection by the Board of Fire Commissioners. This morning, we witnessed an extraordinary display of dedication and commitment from our members.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Chiefs, Officers, and Members for their unwavering dedication throughout the year. Their efforts in maintaining and preparing our vehicles and equipment to be sure they are ready to serve our community are commendable.

Special thank you to Hopewell Hose for the great breakfast this morning.

This weekend, we hosted the 30th Annual Dutchess County Training Weekend. It was an incredible weekend filled with training, camaraderie, friendship, and networking. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who attended - a special thanks to our District Chief John Jackson, the entire DCW Committee, the Instructors, the Officers, our Support Group, and everyone who contributed to the tremendous success of this event. We look forward to seeing everyone next year!

Please be aware that there is a state-wide burn ban in effect until May 14th. Although a quick glance outside right now would make you think nothing could catch fire, this time of year it only takes a couple days of warm, dry winds to bring the fire risk from "impossible" to "imminent. " Every year the volunteers of the East Fishkill Fire District are faced with some period of widespread brush and woodland fires started by leaf and brush burning, carelessly discarded ci******es, and hot car exhausts, among other things. Please be careful and vigilant and help us help keep our community safe!

Designing a piece of fire apparatus takes time and commitment. Our truck committee has put in tremendous effort during the design phase of this 100’ Tower Ladder. Thank you to all for your contribution. We look forward to continue the work with Marion Body Works - Fire & Emergency and Uncle Sam Fire Apparatus

We’re excited to kick off a new aerial apparatus build for East Fishkill Fire District! Thank you to the department for trusting Marion Body Works to deliver an apparatus built to serve your crews and community.

Shoutout to Jason Harris with Uncle Sam Fire Apparatus for the collaboration and support throughout the process — great builds start with great teamwork.

All around East Fishkill at our four stations, two substations, and Headquarters building, our volunteer members are reporting in for storm standby. For the next 24+ hours they will remain at their respective stations. They will do some training, share meals, and enjoy each other's company. But most importantly, they will be at the ready to respond quickly to emergencies around town. They do this for all of you. In return, all they ask is that you be safe, stay off the roads, and call only in event of serious emergencies.

As you are aware a major snowstorm is expected beginning Sunday morning and lasting into Monday. Please use caution and stay off the roads if at all possible. If you have a fire hydrant on or near your property please clear it in all directions during and after the storm. Your assistance is appreciated as it is our responsibility to protect the community.
