Please join me in sending a huge congratulations to my twin sister Brittany Alexander who graduated on Saturday from the University of St. Thomas School of Education of with her Masters of Arts in Special Education. She also received her first teaching contract at Loring Elementary with Minneapolis Public Schools 🎉

I’m also sending a big congratulations to my girls Brittani Carter and Ms. Ann on earning their master’s degrees as well — they deserve all the flowers and are going to be incredible teachers!

I am so proud of these 3 amazing women 🥹They have worked so hard for this moment, and I can’t wait to see the impact of their leadership in our classrooms.

Let’s go ladies!! I’m so proud of you all!

✨✨ Reposting from last night ✨✨

Today I intentionally stayed off social media to spend Memorial Day with family while reflecting, reminiscing, and honoring the loved ones we’ve lost in our families and communities, along with the soldiers who sacrificed their lives for our freedoms.

And always, I will continue to honor the life and legacy of George Floyd, whose life continues to impact communities and social justice movements across the world.

Thank you to the courageous leaders across Minnesota who continue standing firm for our communities, protecting democracy, and refusing to be silent in the face of racism, hate, and white supremacy.

I remain committed to action and accountability against racism and injustice everywhere because our kids deserve to grow up in a world that embraces them for who they are.

The fight continues!

This past weekend was full of celebration, connection, and community 💙

On Friday, I had a great time at the 2026 ResourceWest Spring Fest. Thank you to Tracie Stanton and the entire ResourceWest team for your continued investment in West Metro families, students, and communities, and for being an incredible partner of Hopkins Public Schools.

Thank you as well to Dominique Pierre-Toussaint for the invitation and Dr. Palmer for joining me as my guest — I’m excited for your new journey as Principal at Hopkins High School 🙌🏾.

On Sunday, I kicked off Teacher Appreciation Week alongside some of my Hopkins colleagues at the 62nd Minnesota Teacher of the Year ceremony!

Congratulations to all 128 nominees, including 21 amazing Hopkins educators, and a special shoutout to Amy Phung of Meadowbrook Elementary and Sher Unruh Friesen of Glen Lake Elementary for being named among the 11 finalists — that’s a huge honor 👏🏾

That said, congratulations to David Davis of St. Louis Park Public Schools on being named the 2026 Minnesota Teacher of the Year 🎉

Additionally, I’d like to send a BIG THANK YOU to all the educators across the world for being stewards of education and for your dedication to our students and schools. You are deeply loved, appreciated, and valued 🥹
