A $50,000 investment in preparedness and the volunteers who help keep our community informed and safe. ⛈️

This afternoon, Mayor J.R. Knight presented the Christian County Weather Spotters with funding for a new generator, helping ensure their operations can continue even when severe weather threatens our community.

A special thank you to the dedicated volunteers who serve as weather spotters, and to our city and county officials who continue to support this important team and their mission.

We are saddened to hear of the passing of Dolly Parton.

Her music, generosity and commitment to helping others touched generations and left a lasting legacy far beyond the stage.

The City of Hopkinsville joins so many in remembering her remarkable life and sending condolences to all who loved her. 🤍

It has been brought to our attention that another round of scam phone calls are circulating in our area. Callers are falsely claiming to be law enforcement officers with local agencies and are attempting to collect money in connection with court cases, warrants, fines, or other legal matters.
Law enforcement agencies will never contact you by phone and demand payment to resolve a court case, warrant, fine, or other legal matter. We will not ask you to provide financial information, purchase gift cards, transfer money, or make a payment over the phone.
If you receive a suspicious call, do not provide personal or financial information and do not send money. Hang up immediately.
Please share this information with friends and family, particularly those who may be more vulnerable to these types of scams.

🚧 Heads up at Rotary Park!

Work is underway this week to install the new fence around the Rotary Park playground. The playground will remain open as work allows, but please use caution around crews and equipment.

Another improvement coming together at Rotary Park! 🙌

🚧 ROTARY PARK PLAYGROUND NOTICE 🚧

Beginning today, Monday, August 24, crews will be installing a new fence around the Rotary Park playground. Installation work is expected to continue throughout the week.

The playground will remain accessible as work allows, but we ask all visitors to use extra caution while in the area. Please be mindful of workers, equipment, materials, and any areas temporarily blocked off during installation.
